The Hejl family originated by Barney and Rosalie in 1927. Mom was born in Poland and emmigrated to the United States when she was an infant. Returned to Poland when she was 9 years old and 14. Married Barney at 21. They were the parents of ll children: 8 boys and 3 girls. Barney was a forman at Ferro Machine and Foundry for 39 years when the company moved to Texas. He was without employment for several years before he got a job with Cook Coffee where he was their messenger. He worked there until his death in 1972. Mom was a home maker, who had many talents: There was nothing she didn't try: Wall papering, knitting, crocheting, rug making, millinery, ceramics, gardening, cake decorating, Pets dogs, cats birds. You name it she did it. For 63 years they lived in the family home at 7513 Worley Ave. She traveled all over the country with her daughter,Dolores, and son-in-law Ron. She under went two by pass surgeries, but succombed to heart failure in 1999. She lived to be 92. The children: Joe, Tony, Terry, Bernie, Eddie, Frank, Rich, Dolores, RoseMary, Larry and Tim all were baptized at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and attended parochial school there. They and their spouses all live in the Greater Cleveland area and together comprise the Hejl clan with over 32 children, and 35 grandchildren. Each year the family rents a hall for a family Christmas party and gets together for a family picnic and weddings whenever they occur. With this size family, theres' bound to be one. We're a family our Mom and Dad can be proud of; Always there for each other when the going gets rough, and willing to share our joys and sorrows, happiness and accomplishments with our brothers and sisters.
