I was born Aileene Geraldine Helmick on May 15, 1942 to Roy Wilson Helmick and Delores Aileene McGinley in Jenkin Jones, West Virginia. I was married to Daniel Frederick Kidgell in 1964 and have three children (Daniel Roy, Pamela Sue, and Jill Marie); I was divorced in 1978; and remarried in 1991 to Robert Charles Hanwell.
This past summer we traveled to Bluefield, WVA to try to find out about my birthplace and background. Apparently, Bluefield is in WVA and VA. My parents were divorced when I was four. My father passed and my mother (remarried Plunkett) I have no contact with.
I have a sister Alma Elizabeth Helmick Meacham, June 6, 1944; and a half brother Gerald Roy Helmick (older), I have no contact with my half brother.
I am trying to locate information about my paternal grandmother Icey Helmick (maiden name Capper), her parents and anything about them. I am also trying to locate information about my maternal grandparents (grandfathers and grandmothers names and dates of birth/marriage/death). This would get me started.
Needless to say my immediate family was disfunctional and I am not in contactd with my mother who is still alive. I have no desire to be in contact with her. I would just like to find out all I can about my families.
