I have just retired: We moved from Montevideo MN to Miltona MN
last April, after residing in the Montevideo-Granite Falls area for 69 years. I have not done too much research yet into my family tree, but plan on getting into it after the Christmas Holidays.
My father,Leonard, was born in Iowa the son of Charles and Hannah Tebben Hemmingson. I believe that many of my family spells their name Hemingsen. I think my Dad told me that it was the correct spelling that my Grandpa had been from Denmark and that the correct Danish spelling was the one m and e. I have cousins in Renville whose Grandfather was Chris Hemingsen and that is the way they spell their name.
I have a cousin Richard Hemingson, formerly of Granite Falls, that has shared information with me, and I need to get started with my end, and share with him. His Grandfather was John and his Dad was Marvin.
My Dad had five brothers:
Lanell, Cleland, Floyd, Alfred and a step brother Klayton.
All are deceased except for Klayton.
