Notes for Louis Simon de la Roche: From "Marie - Celestine Countess de la Roche" by Madeleine Ellis (partly based on fact but partly fiction) - Louis was smuggled out of France during the Revolution by Count Simon de la Roche, his wife Josephine and his cousin Marie Celestine Tondeur (nee de la Roche). He was baptised in England as the son of Count Simon and Josephine but he is said to have been a prince of the French Royal House. Louis was brought up by Celestine and her second husband Richard Kenning. Louis and his heirs received a Royal pension.
