The Nicholas Casales of Williamsport, Pa. Updated November 9, 2000
About Our Family Research
My Grandfather, Nicholas Casale was born in Cervinara, Italy in the 1800's. He came to the United States as a stowaway on a ship. When he was discovered, he was hired as a cook on the ship & that's how he paid for his passage. He was married & the father of Mary & possibly one other child when he came to the US. He went back to Italy after a few years & brought his family over. They settled in Masten, PA where he & his wife Rose worked in a Logging Camp. They then moved to Williamsport, PA where they lived out their lives. They had 7 children: Mary, Frances, John (my father), Frank, Gena, Arthur, & Yolanda. They all stayed in the Williamsport area.
