My name is Ashley L. Hermsmeyer. I am the daughter of Richard D. Hermsmeyer, thus the granddaughter of Richard F. Hermsmeyer, and thus the great granddaughter of Richard G. Hermsmeyer.
My brother is Brian L. Hermsmeyer. The son of Richard D. Hermsmeyer, thus the grandson of Richard F. Hermsmeyer, and thus the great grandson of Richard G. Hermsmeyer.
The Hermsmeyer side of my family comes from Prussia, as far as I know. Valdorf, Westerfal the Province of Prussia to be exact. Now is Germany.
On my fathers mothers side of the family comes from Denmark, as far as I know. Varde, Denmark to be exact.
I am also aware that other ancestry in the family is, Norweigan, and more German.
I am not aware of the rest of the family ancestry if there is in fact others.
I again am not real aware of all of the family relations, but I do know that the Hermsmeyers are related to, the, Knowltons, Brueggemanns (spellt in various ways), Paulsons, Allen, Hilderman and various others. I am not aware if they are all from or if any are from Germany. I believe that the Brueggemanns are. I don't know for sure. The Paulsons, are from Denmark, I do know.
I have family in USA, Germany, Norway, Denmark, and more than likely others as well.
I have been to Germany, as far as I know I am the first in the Hermsmeyers, that I know of, that has gone back, since leaving.
I am fluent in German and of course English. I can speak little of other languages, but I know a bit of Danish and Norweigan.
