I am a great-granddaughter of Seigler Wayne Reed. I have been doing research on our family line for about a year now. Seigler is a descendant of George REED and Nancy Anna McLanglin Wigington of VA. George and Nancy settled on land that is present day Floyd County, VA. Most of the Reeds of that area are descended from George and Nancy. I have been in contact with many people who have researched and graciously shared their Reed information with me. I am going to put it on this family site to be shared and used to connect family members. The sole purpose of my work is to preserve our heritage, "So that those to come will know." Seigler left VA and came to Hancock County, IL in 1893. On the 6th of February in the year of our Lord 1896, he and Matilda Ellen Duncan were united in Holy Matrimony near Carthage , IL. My grandmother, Millie Alice Sarah was born the following January on the 7th. She was their first born child. I will add more family news and ask others to submit news and stories as well.
