I began searching for my family about twent years ago and had collected a lot of information from the local Libary as well as going to Court Houses from the areas I was searching. I hve a lot of paper notes which I can not seem to throw away and has come in handy when Hurricane Jeanne came through my home town of Jacksonville, Fl. and put a hundred year old Oak tree right in the middle and distoried my computer work. I have met several cousins on the net who share a common g-g-grandparent and who shared their info and by filling in with my notes helped to to create a line by criss-crossing from father to daughter and daughter to son and back again all the way to Mark Anthony and his second wife Octavia and even found the name Octavia as close as a G-aunt. I have been fortunate in being able to go to the cemeteries where many of my ancestors are now resting finding the grave in good shape and somewhat well kept as well as finding the one in the middle of no where and knowing I was walking where they had walked at one time. The therille of going into a valult in the Court House and touching Will or Deed and know no one had touch it in as many years as it had been filed cannot be described. Walking on the same ground that your ancestors treed over 200 years or longer and see the river where your g-grandmother was baptized is a theril beyound description. An looking around and seeing Nature taking it all over again, you know that this is probable what your ancestors saw for their first time. After all They, our ancestors are who we are, the more we know about them the more we will know about us.
