I started my research in 1997 by asking my relatives questions about my ancestors. They provided me with a few answers (enough to get me started) and family photographs. From there I went to a local church and was able to add to my geneoloy. It's very interesting to actually look for this information. I started with my fathers' side of the family, and the most information I have been able to get is on his mothers' side. I have been able to trace from my grandmother back to my great, great, great, great grandfather who is Joseph Hopkins who married to Mary W. Crispin in November of 1827 in Warren, Waynesville Ohio. I have their childrens names, dates, marriages and so on. They had 9 children. I have a little information about my grandfathers' family on my fathers' side. My maiden name is Lacaze and I have only been able to trace back to my great, great grandfather and I only have his name Pierre Lacaze and that he was born in France, and his wifes' name is Sophie. I was given quite a bit of information about my mothers family from a great uncle who had his family researched by someone else. He gave me three disks full of informaion. So I havn't had to research much on this side of my family. Some of my relatives are from Sacramento California, Louisiana, Napa California, Ohio, France, Eldorado County, Memphis Tennessee, Manteca California, Salt Lake City Utah and more. I hope to add to my geneology continuosly. I hope to have family reunions in the future.
