I am the last of the Herman line from Pleasant View Township Cherokee County Kansas.
I am researching my father's side of the family, the Herman's and his ancestors. My grandfather was Edward Herman of Pleasant View Township Cherokee County Kansas. My Grandmother's name was Rosa Bird original home unknown.
My great grandfather Andrew Herman immigrated to the US in 1850 and was married to Elizabeth Vincent also a native of Germany in 1853. My Great grandparents were George and Katherine Schletere of Germany.
My mother's side is more documented with her maiden name being Harris and her Grandmother's maiden name Grimes. They settled in Randolph County Missouri from Orange County Virginia in the early 1800's.
Any information on any of these surnames would be greatly appreciated.
