| Genealogy begins as an interest, Becomes a hobby; Continues as an avocation, Takes over as an obsession, And in its last stages, Is an incurable disease. --Author Unknown I am especially interested in the Bunton/Buntin/Bunten/Bunting family, as well as the Foust/Faust, Kivett, Krimminger, Overman, Overcash/Oberkirsh, Haithcock, Bowlin/Bolin/Bowling, Sheets, Perry, Lyles, Woodie/Woody/Woodde, and Campbell families. North Carolina counties of primary focus include Alexander, Ashe, Cabarrus, Chatham, Iredell, New Hanover, Randolph, Rowan, and Wilkes. I have found it very interesting to see how all these families are intermigled through the years since arriving in America. Questions, comments, and corrections are always welcome. "In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we have come from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum. An emptiness. And the most disquieting loneliness." -- Alex Haley |
