Notes for Ebenezer Bunting: Ebenezer Bunting b. 1723 to Wilmington NC 1743 d. 1774 mar. Nancy MORGAN. Built the roof on St. James Church with two slaves for so many shillings and pence. Flowers are placed on the alter one Sunday every June in honor of the BUNTING family. Hix BUNTING Drug Store was owned by John Hix BUNTING. Many BUNTINGS are buried in Oakdale Cemetery. Ebenezer BUNTING was s/o Samuel Jr., Samuel, Sr.(immigrant from Derbyshire England) and Anthony BUNTING (1600-1700) m. Eleanor BARKER of Matlock, Derbyshire, England. The known BUNTING history begins about 550 AD.
