He was 16th in lineal descent from William Warren, the first Earl of Warren and Surry, who married *Gundred, the daughter of William the Conqueror & Matilda. Sir Edward was M. P. for Liverpool, 1589. Admitted to Gray's Inn February 26, 1588-89. Toward the end of Queen Elizabeth's reign Edward was in the Irish Wars, where he was Knighted July 22, 1599 by Robert, Earl of Essex. Sir Edward was Lord Lieutenant, secretart and deputy to the Earl of Derby, seneschal of King James in 1603. Sir Edward married three times. His first wife was Margaret Fitton, daughter of Sir Edward Fitton of Gawsworth. There is no record of children by this marriage. His second wife Anne Davenport, daughter of William Davenport of Bramall. There were twelve children by this marriage. Married Susan Boothe as his third wife. There were 11 children by this marriage.
