Ebenezer (age 57, b. NC) and his wife Barbary (age 52, b NC) appear in h/h 689 in 1850 with Sarah (age 24), Jane (age 18), and William (age 12). Only Sarah fails to fit the ages of the 1840 census. In 1860 Ashe he appears as Elisha (age 70), with Barbary (age 65), and Franklin (age 7). Franklin is most likely a grandchild. In 1870 Ashe he appears again as Ebenezer (age 73), with Barbara (age 88) and Franklin (age 18). In 1880 Barbary (age 79) and Ebenezer (age 83) appear as grandparents in the household of William and Patty Cox.
