Will of John Sheets: In the name of God, Amen, I John Sheets of the county of Rowan and state of North Carolina being of sound and (?) mind and memory blessed be God do this thirtyeth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebeckah all my household and kitchen furniture and also I give and bequeath to my beloved wife one sorrel mare two cows and calves and all my hogs and sheep one plow and gears and bacon and wheat and corn and fodder and wheat that is growing and also one bee hive to the use of my wife and children and also some of my other farming tools two hoes one grubbing hoe one ax one mattack one iron wedge and two hogs heads and one meat tub and all the small tubs and salt and geese and also my plantation to the use of my wife and children endure her life or widowhood and also if she should marry I leave her and equal part of all that is mentioned of my personable estate with my two sons William and George Sheets and lastly I leave my land to be equally divided between my two beloved sons William and George Sheets when they come of age and the rest of my estate not mentioned in my will I leave to be sold to pay my just debts and to school my children if any should be left to be equally divided between them.
I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend Azariah Pack and my beloved wife Rebeckah executors of this my last will and testament in witness where of the said John Sheets have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
Signed sealed Published and Declared by the said John Sheets the testator as his last will and testament in the presents of us who were present at the time of signing and sealing thereof.

From Tom Stafford: John's Will probated Aug. 1810 in Rowan County, left to his wife, Rebeckah, all his household and kitchen furniture, one sorrel mare two cows and calves, all his hogs and sheep, a plow and gears, farming tools, bacon, wheat, corn, fodder, wheat that is growing and one bee hive. He also left his plantation to the use of his wife and children - and if she should remarry, he left her an equal part of all that is mentioned of his personal estate with his land to be equally divided between his two sons, William and George when the come of age. The rest of his estate not mentioned in his will he left to pay his just debts and to school his children with anything left to be equally divided between them. He appointed his friend Azariah Pack and his wife Rebeckah as his executors. The will was witnessed by John Stinchcomb. John's will does not mention any other children.
