Mrs. Overcash was born on January 1, 1915 in Rowan County, NC to the late Mrs. Lucy Frick Stirewalt and the late Mr. George C. Stirewalt. She was educated in Farm Life School in China Grove. She was formerly employed at Cannon Mills and retired from Eric Anders Mfg. Co., Salisbury. Mrs. Overcash was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Senior Sunday School Class, and Women of the ELCA.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Fred Eugene Overcash, Sr.; son, Fred E. Overcash, Jr. of Rockwell; daughters, Lucy O. Oliver of Greensboro and Janie O. Avery of Albuquerque, NM; brother, J.C. Stirewalt of Rockwell; five grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Comer officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the home on Old Concord Road.
