Notes for Charles Duncan PERRY: PERRY.--C. D. Perry, at his late residence in MIlan, KS., departed this life on March 11, at 11 o'clock P.M. 1897. He was born Nov. 4, 1849 in the Edgar Co. ILL., aged 47 years, 4 months and 4 days. He was a member of the church at Milan, and identified with the Church of Christ for 23 years. He came to Kansas in the year of 1887. He took sick late in the fall with complicated Kidney trouble and bore his sufferings patiently until the message came and he fell to sleep to await the resurrection morn. He leaves a bereaved wife and seven children to mourn Their loss. Mrs. Perry is also a member of the church at Milan, and has the sympathy of the entire community and of the Church. On the 10th the writer was called upon to hold funeral services at the late home of the deceased, as the health of Sister Perry was such that she could not leave her home to meet at the church house. A large attendance of friends of all churches and neighbors came to pay their last respects and sympathy to the bereaved family. The passages of scripture used to the occasion were taken from 21:1-8 verses of Revelations, after which we accompanied the mortal remains of our brother to the Milan cemetery where they were buried in glorious hope of the resurrection of the dead in Him who is the life eternal. May God's love and mercy ever abound with the bereaved family in this live and the live beyond. S.C. Roach
