Elizabeth Jane Cook died in Spivey, KS, Friday morning about 1 o'clock, April 22, 1904. Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phiobe Walker by the Rev. J.Q. Turner and ber body was laid to rest Saturday evening in the Cleveland Cemetery by the side of her husband , who preceded her in death about 8 months ago.

Elizabeth Hane Cline was born at Cleveland in the state of Ohioon the 20th day of December, 1830. At the age of 16 she was united in marriage to William Cook in Ohio and in the year 1856 they moved to Illinois where the lived until 1884 when they came to Kingman county, Kansas, where they lived ever since. To this union there were 12 children born; the first born passing away in infancy, the rest survive her, all of whom were in attendance at her funeral, escept two, Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Willets of Oklahoma. She also leaves two sisters to mourn her death; Mrs. Diana North of New Hampshire, Ohio and Harriet Morrison of Cleveland, Kansas.

Grandma Cook in her home life , both of wife and mother, was idolized by her husband and children. As a neighbor she was loved and respected in the different communities where sh had lived. Such women as Gandma Cook make the world better by their havieng lived in it and her taking away is one of thos mystries of an all-wise Providence which is beyond the understanding of mankind, but the christian religion asssures His follers that He doeth all things well and that "He moves in a mysterious way His wonders to preform.
