Notes for Andrew Monroe: Justice Member of the House of Burgesses Merchant Served in the Navy 11 May 1769 - Will dated According to the Westmoreland records, he bacame of age in 1718.
Colonel or "Black" Andrew Monroe was a merchant, a Justice and Member of the House of Burgesses. He died in Westmoreland County in 1770 leaving a will dated 11 May 1769 and proved 27 Mar 1770 in which he names his grandchildren.
The executors of his will were Dr. James Bankhead, John Ashton and Spence Monroe.
The Charles C. Munroe reference says Andrew was the son of Andrew and Christina Monroe.
The Gerald Monroe reference says Andrew was the son of William Gent Monroe and Margaret Bowcock.
