Notes for John Monro: About 1660 - Moved to America and located at Norfolk Neck, Virginia Rev. John Monroe studied for the ministry in England and migrated to Virginia in about 1650. For several years, he was minister of St. John's parish, Pomunkie, King and Queen County, Virginia (probably Pomunkey Neck, between the Pomunkey and Mattapony Rivers.)
He witnessed a disposition by his brother Alexander Munro of Katewell in 1688.
John married, Christian the daughter of Commissar Blaire. The supposed birth dates of Christian and John's two sons may be in error or Christian may not have been their mother.
