Don E. Hines (son of Harvey Henson Hines and Vertie Bell Champion) was born September 09, 1918 in Adair, Oklahoma, and died December 09, 1999 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married Pauline Kirkpatrick.

Don was born in Adair County and graduated from High School in Norman, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, studying business administration. He married Pauline Kirkpatrick and his first job was as a civilian property and supply officer for Tinker Air Force Base. He was a partner in the Hines Motor Company in Shawnee in the 1940's. He then went to work for Jonco Aircraft Company in Shawnee while running a cattle ranch in St. Louis, Oklahoma. He later went to work for North American Rockwell, Bethany Division while living in Oklahoma City. He and Pauline then moved to Norman where he became Purchasing Agent for the city of Norman. He retired from working for the city of Norman in 1979 to help take care of Pauline who was diagnosed with breast cancer. He and Pauline moved into his father's house in Shawnee at 1202 E. Independence. After Pauline died in 1983, don moved to Oklahoma City on 325 S.W. 66th Street. He died of respiratory failure secondary to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Deaconess Hospital Intensive Care Unit on December 9, 1999.
