John Henry and Lucy Ann Ensminger Hipple traveled to Waterman, IL, in 1870, from Perry County, PA, to farm. They had six children and the four brothers each farmed in the area. Since that time, the family has spread out. Only the decendants of Edgar Ensminger Hipple are still farming in Waterman.
Recently (August 8-12, 2001), 47 descendants of John and Lucy met for a reunion at the Stanford Chalet in Lake Tahoe, CA. They were from all over the United States as well as Canada. It was a wonderful time of sharing- and making- memories! This meeting has fueled more interest in putting together family information, and thus the beginning of this Home Page! It is hoped that all of our 'bits and pieces' can now come together to make the whole 'quilt' depicting the story of our roots... both for ourselves, and our children!
I am working on the family tree information I have and will include it with this site as soon as it is done. Then we can each add/correct as needed, OK? Write back to me with any other ideas! :)
