About Our Family Research

My mother started the tracing of our ancestors. She gave me the job of finding roots for my g-grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Wray, born 1834 in TN died 1921 in Dekalb, TX. He was orphaned at a young age in TN and is found first in Wilson County, TN.
He married Ellen S. Robinson and had 4 children, Henrietta, Emily, Thomas Franklin and Sarah Ellen. When Ellen died sometime after 1880 in Overton Co., he married my g-grandmother, Sarah Permelia Carr, daughter of Eliza Jane Copeland and William Carr, in (1884)in Overton Co. TN. They had 7 more children. He was 50 and she was 25 years old. Around 1892, he migrated to Hall Co., TX, in 1900 he was Indian Territory, OK, Chickasaw Nation and in 1910 back to Dekalb, TX. The Wray line is challenging because of the different spellings. (Wray, Ray, Rhea.) T J Wray was an interesting character. He made the bricks for the Livingston Court house in Overton Co around 1870 and then went to Pickett Co., Tn with his first son (with Ellen,)Thomas Franklin Ray to build their jail. Later he became a farmer. My search is for his parents names and the guardian family.
