The Jorgenson Family Tree of Wyoming Valley, WI Updated April 21, 2004
About Our Family Research
I have traced the Jorgenson family back to Hedmark, Norway. I still have ongoing research for some of them there. This starts with Jørgen Johannessen and Sir Tronsdatter who had a son, Simen Jørgensen Steenseie, born Oct. 11, 1827, Christened Dec. 9, 1827 and Confirmed Sept. 29, 1844 in Ringsaker church. His residence in 1844 was Christopherstuen, Ringsaker. Simen married Pernille Christophersdatter Haavie on Jan. 4, 1849. Together they had 6 children and immigrated in 1868 to America. They settled in Wyoming Valley. Pernille and 3 daughters died soon after their arrival of scarlet fever and are buried somewhere in this valley. In 1869 Simen married Angnethe Hovestrude Nelsen. This is an update...... I have since found out more about this family. If anyone researching this family needs information, please feel free to contact me.
