Jean Elizabeth Holmes 3410 Lowson Blvd. Delray Beach, FL 33445-5641 561-498-5285 Fax: 561-495-2084 JeanHolmes@aol.com	I am presently searching for members of my maternal family with the surname of Cooley. My grandfather Bertrand Cooley is shown in SS records as being born on June 09,1880 in New York (the NY state of birth may be incorrect-my family recollections place his birth in the New England area-possibly Boston). His wife was Gertrude Moore. The Cooleys lived variously in Boston, Mass., New Haven, Conn., Spring Valley, NY, Nanuet, NY, and during retirement years, wintered in Florida. Bertrand died in June of 1972 in New Hope, PA. His wife Gertrude died in Nanuet, New York--date unknown, but probably in the late 1940's or early 1950's. Bertrand and Gertrude had five children: Mildred, born on Nov. 13, 1901, married surname became Kerr; Dorothy (my mother)born Sept. 17,1907 and died Feb. 15, 1989; Dwight (not yet researched); Myrtle (married surname became Van der Vlugt); and Clifford (not yet researched). Also searching for my husband's family members with the surname of Holmes. The family is originally from the area of Macon, Georgia. My husband's name is Lucien Rhodes Holmes. He was born in Charlotte, NC on October 3, 1938. His father was Lucien Greene Holmes, born in 1889 in Macon, GA and died on March 1, 1968 in Columbia, SC. My husband's mother was Florence Watson, born in Longs, SC in 1904 and died in Columbia, SC on July 4, 1983.
