Notes for James Oheron: James is a total mystery man. I cannot find his parents, I was lucky to find out his birthplace. I have had several wild goose chases. My mother has no memory of him, even though he was living in her home when he died. My mother was only 4 in 1929.. James was buried July 4 in 1929 in the 100F cemetery in Marion, Indiana. He was not buried next to his wife, who proceeded him in death by 20 years. I have no idea why. I have no pictures of him, that i know of, the family album does have a few unidentified pictures, but none that I can link to James. My mother was under the impression that James came over from Ireland, but it was his parents that came from there. James was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, at some point he traveled to Pittsburgh and worked at Macbeth Evans Glass Company. He must have met Theresa there, as her youngest daughter, Celia, was born in PA . She was 2 when James and Theresa were married according to the 1900 census, putting there marriage in 1891. I have no idea what happened to Theresa's first husband. I did find a James Oherron in a 1890 directory in Detroit Michigan and I also found a Theresa Todtenbeir in Detroit at the same time, but her name would have been Dunn. At any rate they moved to Marion , Indiana by 1900. Her 3 children were with her. James and Theresa lost a son, and a set of twins before the birth of their son William, my Grandfather, in 1897. Families were tight mouthed back in the day, and just didn't discuss family business in front of the children. My mom knows very little to add to this side of the family. In 1910, James was widowed living with his son William, and Theresa's children, Eddie and Celia, George had married Harriet Vangordon. A possibility for James's parents are Michel and Margaret Oherron, in the 1880 census, Hamilton Co, Ohio, they had a son living with them that was 22, the right age for a 1858 birth, but there were 2 siblings, Peter, and Ellen, and know no one ever heard that James had any siblings.
