David Hoover (son of Jonas Hoover and Rachel Briles)^{1937, 1938, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944} was born 1780 in Randolph County, NC, and died 1852 in Indiana^{1945, 1945, 1945}. He married Pollie on 1807 in Randolph Co., NC¹⁹⁴⁶.

There is documentation for a marriage between David Hoover and Amy Vestal. There is no documentation stating that Amy is "Polly". Polly is a common nickname for the name Mary, Elizabeth and Amy. The birth year of David is very ambiguous as there are so many Davids in the Hoover line.

In the 1850 Census, Henry Co., Liberty, there is a David Hoover, b.1790 m. to Polly, b.1788, but each were b. in PA. Andreas, his father, did live in PA for a short time before moving to MD, then NC.

In the 1850 census, Randolph Co.NC Jacob Hoover (Davids son) is found with his wife ELiza and daughter Triphenna, there. is also a Lineberry Hoover, b.1780. I can find nothing to back this up as yet, but I am beginning to believe that David's middle name could perhaps be Lineberry and this is Jacob's father, our David, in the census
