My current research is the Jeancon family. I am the grand daughter of Marguerite Blanch Jeancon. I'm researching the family of my gg-grandfather of Dr.Jean Allard Jeancon.
Dr. John Allard Jeancon was born April 8,1831 in Cambray, France, attended school in Berlin, and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 1854. He immigrated to American where on August 24,1861 he was Mustered into the Union Army, 32nd Regiment Indiana Infantry ("1st German Regiment") and served as surgeon until 1865. He was wounded in and survived the courageous Battle at Rowlett's Station. He lived and practiced in Campbell County, Newport KY after the Civil War until his death in 1903. In 1874 he was professor of Physiology at the Eclectic Medical College, Cincinnati Ohio. In 1891 he was Professor of Genitourinary. He wrote several books on diseases and served two terms as coroner. He died on January 13,1903, Newport Kentucky, cremated at the Cincinnati Crematory.
