I am a Horan who lives in Kentucky. I am only a 2nd generation Horan, so my roots are not here. Where then you ask? Nebraska! My own Father, Aunt and Uncles had never heard anything about NEB growing up. But all the paths I took led there. In my wildest dreams I never thought NEB! Well, when I came across 3 letters in my grandparents love letters from NEB I knew right then I had my proof. My grandfather had gone there in 1928 as the beneficiary to whom Mary Jane Horan had left $200. The estate could not be cleared because a relative, Bessie Patterson, claimed the young Horan had drowned in 1920. His story was even in the newspaper. In the letters my grandfather had nothing but good things to say about his NEB relatives. He said they had a big party for him so he could meet his many new found relations. I am hoping that there is someone out there who is still living that remembers that event. My grandfather's name was Edward Patrick Horan, his parents were Joseph Edward Horan & Ida Gertrude Voight. See my family tree for more names!
