JOHN HOFFER from Hungary 1880 (?) died in Colorado 1905 (?

Updated April 29, 2001

About Our Family Research

John Hoffer is my grandfather who came to the United States from Hungary, date unknown. He lived in Colorado in 1902 because I found birth records for my father in the Catholic church in Canon City, Colorado. His wife was Theresa who died in childbirth, probably 1903-4 in Colorado. They had three children, daughters Theresa and Betty and my father, John. Gramdpa was a miner and after his wife died, he left the three children with friends in Pueblo and returned to mining. After a year, no one heard from him again and it is believed he died in a mine accident somewhere in Colorado. I cannot find death records or immigration records on either grandparent. I would appreciate any help or advice.
