This is an attempt to preserve what little information I have about Grandaddy's and Grandma's families before, and hopefully fill out a family tree of their decendants. The information I have, I got from Grandma Sadie(orally) in about 1980. We were on vacation in the mountains and one evening I asked her to tell me what she could remember about her family, and Grandaddy's. Though she was up in years, her mind was as sharp as a tack. She gave me the following information so quickly, I had to ask her to slow down so I could write everything down. Grandaddy and Grandma were married on July 3, 1927. Her parents, George and Dolly were married in Nov., 1910.
Grandma Sadie was born on Jan. 11, 1912 at Folkston, NC. Her parents were: Mother-Dollie Hobbs, born Jan. 12,1894 at Queens
Creek. Dollie's parents were Elsa Hobbs and Sara(or Sally) Melton.
Father- George Bertie Coston, born on Jan. 18, 1887 at Stump Sound, Onslow Co. NC. George's parents were Scott Coston and Alice McGowan.
Grandaddy Berry was born June 7, 1908. His parents were: Jerry Andrew Marshburn(Onslow Co.) and Kate Willaford(Catherine's Lake, Onslow Co. NC)
George B. Coston died in 1918. Dolly Hobbs Coston re-married Hosea Nixon Marshburn on Jan. 6, 1924. (Hosea was a brother of Grandaddy Berry).
Mother(Dolly) and daughter(Sadie) were married to brothers(Berry and Hosea).
