I'm researching the Horton's of VA,NY,CT,OH,IL,IA. I have Ezra back to born ca 1763 in unknown maybe NY. He was in 1787 tax list in Monongalia Co, VA along with Elihu the sheriff of Morgantown, VA Ezra had a son Thomas Jefferson Horton b 1787 in Monongalia Co, VA and married in Coshocton Co, OH to Jane Butler. Ezra married 2nd wife Elizabeth Butler in Morgantown, Mono Co, Va ca 1799 and moved to Muskingham Co. OH then to Coshocton Co about 1810 and lived in Bedford Twp, until his death which he was about 90yrs old in 1852 his sons moved to Fulton Co, Woodland Twp, IL. Ezra had a brother Daniel who was in Washington Co, PA in 1790-1800 and he started Baptish church in Mushingham Co,OH in 1811 and died in Coshocton Co, OH 1825. I have his WILL. I have a lot more on Thomas's family in IL. I am wondering if Ezra's, Elihu and Daniel's father was Joseph who was in West Augusta Dist and sheriff along 10 mile creek near Pittsbugh, PA. There was also a Joseph in Harrison Co, VA ca1799.
