James Dunne Molloy came to Buckingham County VA. from Kings County Ireland. One of his sons and a grandson stayed in VA.
They settled in Tazewell County.

In the 1840's one of James Dunne Molloy's great-grandsons moved to Linn County Mo. Abel Molloy and his wife Hannah Asbury remained in Mo. for the rest of their lives.

Some of their sons moved to Oklahoma during the Oklahoma Land Rush. One of their sons was Powhattan Bolen Molloy a lawyer and reporter. Not happy with the land in Western Oklahoma he moved his family to Oklahoma Territory in what is now Lincoln County. He and his wife are buried in Agra, Oklahoma in the Oak Dale Cemetary.
