I was always told by my grandmother to be proud of your name and to be hawaiian. She always told me to search the history of the Houghtailing name. I was young and not really interested. She past away in 1993 and God Bless her. I wish I would have listened to all the stories she had told me. I found that Mr. George Washington Houghtailing married Eliza Piimoku Thompson who then had 5 sons and 5 daughters. Mr. James Cullens Houghtailing would be my Great Grandfather. He is one of George's and Eliza's sons. James Cullens Houghtailing married Anne Kintaro gave birth to my grandfather, Mr. Edward Kuhaimoana Houghtailing
whom married Maile Kelii whom had 3 sons named Edmund, Joseph Reuben and Earl Meyer Houghtailing. Joseph Reuben Houghtailing married Josephine Kaipo Bannister had 6 children. Bishop,Kaala Susan, myself Linda Maile, Jesse Kelii, Edward Kaipo and Judy Pelani. All Houghtailing's. My mother's father's name is Andrew Tell Bannister Jr. and her mother's name was Harriett Kama Kealiikuloa. I have met cousins through the e-mail and I really enjoy it. There is still alot for me to look into and I can't wait. I have not attended any reunions on my fathers side but I have on my mothers side. I have been blessed to still be able to enjoy my parents. I lost my oldest brother, Bishop. We all miss him so very much. That has changed my life forever. My youngest sister Judy has a son, Everett Kaimana. He is the youngest grandchild to my parents. Bishop has three daughters, Monica Leilani, Melanie Maile and Melissa. My brothers wife's name is Maureen Ann Volek Houghtailing. My brother Jesse has 2 sons, Reuben Kelii and Ross Houghtailing and my youngest brother has 1 daughter and 1 son, Maile Lisa and Andrew Edward Houghtailing. My neice, Monica Leilani Has 3 beautiful sons that my brother would be so proud of.
