We are just beginning to research our families' history, so there is not yet much to state. My wife, Carol Ann was originally a Marshall and is intested in that family line. Carol is a disenfranchised Cherokee and is planning extensive investigations to try and trace that lineage. My own background also includes native american lineage but it is unclear at this time as to what tribe. My grandfather, Miles Lamb Hough was half native american but nothing was ever spoken of this by my father during his lifetime. I know my grandfather spent time in Wyoming and ran a saloon there in the twenties, before moving to Tonasket, Washington, an area pioneered by his father. My grandfather has at least one brother, possibly more. One of them was named Buster. There may have been another brother named Charlie. (I do not know my great grandfathers name.) My father, Miles Ray Hough (Sr) was born in Big Horn, Wyoming in 1924. My father's mother's maiden name was Violet Wood, daughter of Ray Wood, one of the co-founders of Casper, Wyoming, I believe. Sparse beginnings perhaps but then the longest journey begins with the first step....or so they say. Any help will be welcomed. ...
