The legacy begins with Hillard Rowland, originally from South Carolina, and his travels with a whit planter from South Carolina. They traveled North , a few states towards the north and ended with them in the small sawmill town of Huttig, Arkansas. Hillard had some children, one of them being Squire Rowland who fathered Alex Rolland(1914-1986)and his sister,Ellen, Aunt Tee, Rolland. There was a case of domestic violence and supposedly Squire Rowland hit Pearlie upside the head with an ax and she wasn't the same after that. She was comitted to a mental hospital and the kids resided with father and his new wife(name unknown. Alex was mistreated by her and atthe age of two his mother Pearlie died(location unknown?)Alex had an older brother(name unknown) who came and rescued him from his abusive stepmother. That brother brought him to live with him in Ouachita Parish Louisiana. Alex resided in Louisiana until the day he died,but while he was there he befriended the Collins'family. He would stay with them off and on. He married their daughter, Eula Collins(1917-?)They had (10kids?)A.J.?, June Lovell Rolland, Elizabeth Louise Rolland Walker,Catherine Rolland Jackson,Ollie Ruth Rolland Cooper,Billy Ray Rolland,Jackie Belinda Rolland,and Althea Lanell Rolland Franklin, Pearlene and Clydene Rolland,Mildred rolland.
