The Atkinson family had family reunions in Monticello, KY from about the early 60's to about 2004 which is also when my father died. My father was next to the youngest child in his family and a few brothers and the youngest sister was still alive. Since they lived in other states and it was hard for them to travel they decided to quit the regular reunions. I still go there occasionally to visit my brother and his son and a few of my cousins.
The Hay family had one reunion a few years ago in Jacksonville, TX where my cousin lives and thought it would be close enough for most of the faily to attend. There were about fifty who attended. Most of them were my grandfather's brothers and sisters children and their grandchildren.
