The Andrew C. Howingtons of Burleson, Texas

Updated February 25, 2004

About Our Family Research

I am from the line of Nimrod Howington through his son James C. I am of the opinion that the Howingtons came to America as a group of brothers or cousins into North Carolin ,and maybe Virginia, and then spread out in several directions. I believe that one or more went to Georgia and another one or more went to Tenn. and, perhaps, on to Texas. Even though I live in Texas now, I am not a part of that branch. Howingtons were already in Texas when I came here. Nimrod left North Carolina and traveled to western Alabama and, I believe, left a son and perhaps other relatives. He then traveled on to Mississippi and his son James C. settled in Newton County. Nimrod then continued on to Franklin Parrish, Louisiana and settled down and died there. I would like to be able to either prove or disprove these beliefs. In my family tree, I have included as much of my wife's family as possible.
