I have been researching my family tree and would like information about the parents of William Howland born 15 July 1788 at Quaker Hill, Dutchess Co. NY. William was bonded out at a young age to Jeriah Wing (farmer)who lived in Ontario, Canada. William lived with this Jeriah Wing for a few years and then ran away and earned his own living. William married 23 Oct 1809 to Sarah Wiltze who was born 19 Nov 1794. William and Sarah come back to Dutchess Co. and then moved west into Ill. in 1846. They had 13 children the last being James b. 25 Sept 1835. James married Susan Irvine and had 3 sons, George W., William L, and Charles Grant my grandfather. The information I have is from research that my Grandmother Ella Alameda (Fox) Howland put together approx. 1911-1915. Their information also stated that Israel Howland of Dutchess Co. NY was Williams grandfather, William Howland b. 30 May 1754 was his father and a decendants of Henry Howland brother of pilgrim John Howland. I don't know the name of Williams' mother.
