He was born in England prior to 1850. He was naturalized in Oneida county, N.Y., on October 24, 1866. The two married on October 16, 1878 in Burke's Garden, Virginia, where they raised their family and died (he in March 1931, she on May 16,1943). Their youngest child, Thomas Matheson Howell, was my father. I have not been able to trace the Howell line back further.
