I'm a desendent of Daniel Padgett. His wife's name was amanda or nancy, I'm not sure. Daniel had several brothers and one or two sistres. His brothers names are Phillip, Dunk(nickname i guess)
Jim, maybell, Sam, Joe, Paul, Eugine. Daniel was born in May,1865. They had three children Shellie, Ben, and Mary. My great grandfather was Ben Padgett. The Padgett's has had two reunions so far, and we are planning for 2002 in virginia. Please, Please, if you have any information let me know.
It has been estimated that in a small town called lodge, South Carolina is where it all began. I got another sorce that told me it started in Ritter, South Carolina. We are not sure as you can see but we do know it was Colleton County, South Carolina. Sources say that we have cousins with the name of Washington, Jenkins. Daniel and Amanda raised their three children on several acres of land called "The Bay". Shellie married Mr. Charlie Jones. They had seventeen bundles of joy. Ben married Betty Akins they had 13 children. Mary moved up north and married Boss Davis, they had two boys. This family has always been a religious family. The family church and cemetery is McCune Branch Baptist Chiurch in Lodge,South Carolina.

Brantley(D),Richard(D),And Bettymae(D). All the D's after the name means that they have gone on to be with the lord. Their are only three sisters still living in New York. Aunt Janet lives in Hollis Queens. Aunt Evelyn lives in St.Albans, it's actually a block away. Aunt Ray lives in Brooklyn.
