This is a brief sketch of our family tree as we know it. We would welcome information which can accurately fill in many blanks and answer some of our questions about the Pelphreys and Howards of Eastern Kentucky. The parents of Phillip D.Howard of Dayton, Ohio were Dolpha S.Howard and Agnes Pelphrey Howard, both of or from near Johnson Co.,Ky. Dolpha was born Dec.24,1911; m.Aug.1,1936; d.Feb.28,1990. Agnes Pelphrey was born April 11,1913; m.Aug.1,1936;d.Dec.20,1992.Dolpha's father was Joe Howard. His mother was Phoebe Hall Howard. A stepmother reared him: Lina Sturgeon Howard, since his mother died when he was a year old. He was the youngest of six children. Agnes was the oldest of seven children. Her father was Labe Pelphrey and her mother was Lou Williams Pelphrey. Lou was one of fifteen children.Her parents were Thomas Williams and Margaret Brown Williams. Labe's parents were Harrison Pelphrey and Mary Spradlin Pelphrey.Labe's grandmother was Omie_?_Pelphrey. Dolpha's maternal grandparents were Wilson Hall and _?_Hackworth Hall.His paternal grandparents were Thomas "Clarence" Howard and _?_Gullet Howard.
