My origin is in Saskatchewan, Canada with ancestors from Ireland and Scotland.
Robert McConnell is my father. His parents were John McConnell and Mary Stewart of Race End, Letterkenny, N. Ireland. He is the 3rd child of seven children - James, William, (Robert), George, Harry,Anna and Alexander. My father (Robert) immigrated to Canada in 1911 where he found work at The Great West Saddlery, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He later came to Hughton, Saskatchewan where he purchased land and farmed until his passing in 1968.
Lorraine McConnell is my mother. Her parents were Malcolm Brownlie and Mary Houston of Coatbridge, Scotland. She is the youngest of eight children - Jean, Margaret, Jessie, Florence, George, Crawford, Winnifred and (Lorraine). My mother's parents immigrated from Coatbridge, Scotland to Rosetown, Saskatchewan where they owned and operated a Tea House. Malcolm Brownlie homesteaded land near Sanctuary, Saskatchewan. Mary (Houston) was born in Ireland and travelled to Scotland where she met and married Malcolm Brownlie about 1906.
My parents, Robert McConnell and Lorraine Brownlie were married in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on October 5, 1939. Their children are Allan Robert McConnell and myself, Sharon Rose McConnell.
I married my first husband, Harold Smith, on October 8, 1966 and we had 3 children - Linda Dale, Woodford Harold and Watson Robert. We were separated in 1989 and divorced in July, 1992. I married William Hryciuk on December 25, 1992 and we live in Kelowna, BC. His first wife, Ann, died of cancer in 1990. They have 2 daughters - Terry and Shelly.
William and I have 8 living grandchildren and 1 deceased granddaughter.
