After moving to Syracuse, NY she worked as a supervisor for the East Syracuse High School Cafeteria. Then after moving to Minoa she ran her own catering business and made salads etc. for the local deli's in Smith's supermarkets. She loves to bake and make pies for the church to sell at their various affairs. After retirement when in Florida for the winter she is a member of the Peninsula Club. They make lap robes, cancer pads, tracheotomy pads for the people in the nursing homes . Gen also knits hats for cocaine babies. Although her eyesight is very poor she continues to make pies for the church affairs and mittens for the grandchildren.
