I am researching the CLAXTON family tree as well as the STANTON's.
BRANDENBURG / JORDAN
The maternal side of my CLAXTON family started in Brandenburg, Germany. Matthias Brandenburg was born in 1744. In 1752, Wilhelm Heinrich Brandenburg and Matthias emigrated to the United States, settling near Winchester, Virginia. In 1764 Matthias married Hester Wolgamot and had a son, Samuel in Hampshire county, Virginia. Samuel married Sarah Henson and had George Henson Brandenburg. George married Sarah Thomas on August 18, 1829 in Estill County Kentucky. In November 1838 George and Sarah had a son, Abraham Cornelius Brandenburg and he married Mary Ann Cooney in Lee County Kentucky. In August 1877, Abraham and Mary had my great-grandmother, Mary Brandenburg who married David Jordan in Campbell, Tennessee.
CROSS / CLAXTON
The paternal side of my CLAXTON family has been a mystery so far. My Grandfather, Everett CLAXTON married Della JORDAN. Everett's father's name was Maynard CROSS and his mother was Alice CLAXTON. They never married but had two other children, Edie CLAXTON and a Jerome CLAXTON all three being born in Tennessee. I don't have any other information about this side of my family and if anyone knows anything it would greatly be appreciated.
STANTON / KING
My mother's side of the family are the STANTON / FLANARY families. My mother was born in Everts, Kentucky. My grandfather, Victor STANTON (b: 1905) married Goldie FLANARY (b:1909) and had 5 children. Victor's father was Doc STANTON and he married Nancy CREECH (both born in 1884). Doc STANTON'S parents were Billy STANTON and Lavonne KING. I have been unsuccessful at tracking down anything at all on Lavonne KING or Billy STANTON'S parents.
FLANARY / BUSH
Goldie FLANARY's parents were William FLANARY and Nancy BUSH. I am not sure but I think my grandmother's, Goldie, grandfather or Nancy's brother's name was Marion BUSH (1894 - 1970). Again, if anyone knows anything it would greatly be appreciated.
