I am Researching The Following Surnames: Hudson, Tunnell, Norton, Feagins, Luster & McGee. I have Traced my Roots to My Gr Gr Great Grandfather James Hutson/Hudson. He was born in Virginia & He Married Susan (last name unknown) from North Carolina. He was Born abt 1796. He is listed in the Tennessee 1830 Census and it states his age and does not mention where in Virginia he was born. He Died in May 1880 in Kingsport, Tn. I ran into another Stone Wall, James' son, George Washington Hudson Sr. He joined the Army During the Civil War (Not sure which Army). My Great Great Aunt Told my Father that he was Taken away By Confederate Solders & He Was never heard from again. He is not listed in the 1870 Census, But His Wife, Susan Large Hudson and their children are. In the 1860 Census, George W. Hudson Sr's name, at least his Family's name, was spelled "Hutson" and Remained that way atleast through the 1920 Census. James Hudson's Spelling of his last name always remained "Hudson". I was told That the Social Security Administration told my Grand Father Walter Neil Hudson that he would have to change the spelling to what it is now, with the -D-, in order for him to get his Social Security Benefits. So, there may be FamiIies that have their name Spelled "Hutson" that maybe descendants of James Hudson. If anyone can contribute to This Family Tree, Feel free to E-mail me. My E-mail Address is ----------mehud@bellsouth.net------
