The Huender family finds it origins in Germany possibly in the Dusseldorf/Essen area. In the late 1500's the family comes to the Netherlands and documentation of the family begins. They settle in Doetichem, Gelderland under the name Kijstesnijesseler. The name changes in 1643 to Heuner or Huener or also hoender, and finally sttles in on Huender in the the descendants of the next generation. The family remains in Doetichem into the early 1700's than shifts to Terborg, Silvolde and Eibergen. The family has several Preachers in villages in Gelderland, also a rector of a Latin School, a Doctor all of which have left detailed documentation of the Huender family.
The Huender family also was represented in families in the Dutch East Indies, and also Suriname, and the families many branches connect to many more interesting lives. The family currently has over 2,000 entries.
