In the early 1960s, I asked my mother if she might jot down what she knew of her and my father's family history. She said that she would, but as of her death in 1979 she had not provided any information, putting me off yet again each time I asked her.
Upon the death of my father in 1995, I had the familial duty to clean out his house in preparation for sale. In so doing, I discovered three boxes of old photos and notes. The boxes were organized into three different family sets: the Hufford family going back to the current known progenitor, John Jamison Hufford of Devon, England; the Hill family going back through my paternal grandmothers family history; and the McConnell family tracing the family history of my mother.
With this data, I began my own research. To date, 10/17/2004, I have been able to flesh out my mother's paternal line to four generations, my mother's maternal line to six generations, my father's paternal line to four generations, and my father's maternal line to five generations. I continue my search for my ancestors.
