The majority of our family is connected to Ohio in one way or another. Many of us have moved to Arizona and California. Those of us left in Ohio are probably in Columbus, Cleveland, Ashland, or Cincinnati. Franklin County and Ross County are found on most of our ancestors' records.
The Archer family (including Brewster, Cleveland, Diehl, Higley, Trumbull, and Williams) and Benner family (including Bright, Keener, Lemon, Peach, and White) each had a family member dedicated to compiling and documenting their family histories. Information on Rayburn, Simons, Ochs, Huffman, Sepko, Gifford, Zales, Kondik, Vargas, Wargo, Getru, Halkovitzh, Hall, Nocar, Sherman, Snouffer and Kenney has been gathered in interviews with older family members and also in the form of handwritten notes they left behind. These stories have been passed on from one generation to the next, either verbally or printed on various publications (newspaper clippings, funerals, graduation announcements, etc.), and on occasion individuals took the time to write down information as they knew it. Needless to say, the verification process will be an on-going project: we've barely scratched the surface, but those efforts to obtain official documentation will continue, revising our tree as necessary and hopefully, answering a lot of questions and filling in the gaps to make sense of it all.
