The Reel Immigrants to Texas, the story of Daniel and Barbary Reel and their children, Henry, James (who married Mary Martin), Alfred (who married Purmelia Norris), Nancy (who married Hezekiah George and Jesse Gazaway), Elizabeth (who married M. H. Ussery, William Inch and Edward Taif), and Eunity (who married Redin Mason), who came to Texas in 1833 as colonists under David G. Burnet in the Mexican State of Coahuila and Texas, is almost ready for publication.
The book contains approximately 350 pages and will be available on 8-1/2 by 11 inch, 60 lb. Archival white paper, with a hardback cover, for about $27, including shipping, possibly a little less for multiple-book orders. The text contains more than 400 footnotes, giving sources of information, and includes a chronology of records and events relating to Daniel and Barbary Reel and their children, placing the family history in time-based sequence. A bibliography contains a list of sources consulted or relied upon in preparing the text and is followed by a comprehensive Index.
The book also contains an appendix with schedules of descendants of those children of Daniel Reel who have been identified and a schedule of the children and grandchildren of Johan George Riehl, who came to America in 1751, settled in North Carolina. There can be little doubt, if any, that he was the father of Daniel Reel, the Texas immigrant. Sources of information in schedule of descendants are shown as endnotes following each schedule. The Appendix has its own bibliography and index of names appearing in the schedules.
